Vancouver’s legendary Hastings Skatepark hosted some of the world’s best skateboarders as the Vans Pro Skate Park Series came to town. The global series has a prize purse of over $500,000, and the Vancouver stop is known to attract thousands of fans. While the crowd was cheering for hometown skaters, Adam Hopkins and James Clarke, the who’s who of skateboarding were in town for the weekend-long celebration that included parties, art shows, and concerts.
While the contestants spanned generations, a trio of 17-year-olds swept the top-3 with Ivan Federico coming out on top. Meanwhile, local stops around the city lit up as the pros in town went to work on famous spots including infamous DIY park, Leeside.
If you missed the event; don’t fret. The contest is an annual stop on the Vans contest tour, so just be sure to mark it on your calendar for next year. If the first video wasn’t enough, check out this second edit for a full sense of how heavy the skating was.
