The Best Brews In New Brunswick

Looking for locally crafted faire and tasty micro-brews? Look no further than New Brunswick’s growing microbrewery and craft cider scene. We crossed the province travelling from major cities Moncton to Saint John to Fredericton as well as the northern corners of NB tasting local beer (and don’t worry we weren’t driving) to find out who had the best brews. Check out some of our favourite brews in New Brunswick below…

Pump House Brewery

Address: 5 Orange Ln, Moncton, NB E1C 4L6

Phone: (506) 855-2337

Our Favourite: Blueberry Ale – Don’t be mistaken by the name. This blueberry ale tastes like a true crisp lager with a fresh picked blueberry character. Bonus: they serve the pints with freshly picked NB blueberries.

Fils du Roy

Address: 599 Chemin Principale, Paquetville, NB E8R

Phone: (506) 764-2046

Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Our Favourite: Messe Blanche – very fresh and easy to drink.

Petit-Sault Brewers

Address: 45 de l’Église Street, Edmundston, NB.

Phone: (506) 733-1313

Hours: Thursday and Friday – 10 am to 9 pm, Saturday- 10 am to 6 pm

Our Favourite: A bronze medalist at the 2015 Canadian Brewing Awards, the Kedgwick Pilsner is named after a great paddling and fishing river in New Brunswick… and it goes down easy, way too easy.

Picaroons General Store

Address: 32 Canterbury St, Saint John, NB E2L 2C5

Hours: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Phone: (506) 648-9834

Our Favourite: Porter Ale – Dark, chocolatey and delicious

Gray Stone Brewery

Address: 221 King St, Fredericton, NB E3B 1J4

Phone: (506) 459-7710

Our Favourite: Patagonia IPA – Sharp with a hint of fresh floral undertones

Red Rover Cidery

Address: 546 Queen St, Fredericton, NB E3B 1B9

Phone:(506) 455-2763

Hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Our Favourite: Summer Cider – Fresh, dry and filled with citrus perfect for summer.

Want to try all these beers but don’t have enough time to visit them all? If you are in Fredericton check out the Gray Stone Brewery and James Joyce Pub. The James Joyce Pub has an amazing burger (made with all local ingredients) called The Big MacLeod and a huge selection of rotating local beers on tap. Gray Stone Brewery is the go to after work scene featuring a large selection of local beers on tap and a super yummy food cart in the parking lot (yes, you can bring the food inside the brewery) that serves deep fried pickles and portobello mushroom fries. Enough said.
