Must See: Prince Edward Island’s Beaches

PEI is well known for its incredible seafood, friendly people, and Anne of Green Gables… but did you know that wherever you are on the Island, you are never more than a 30-minute drive away from the beach? Hello #vacaygoals! To help you navigate the beaches of PEI we have put together a list of our top 5 beaches on the island.

1) Basin Head Provincial Park

Named ‘Best Beach In Canada’ in 2013 by, Basin Head Provincial Park stuns with white singing and the warmest water north of Florida. Take a dip, check out the Fisheries Museum, grab some food, and relax in the sunshine.

p.s. You think the view in this picture is nice, just wait till you get down to the beach.

2) Cavendish Beach– PEI National Park

So much goodness here… creamy sand, red cliffs really and long strolls along the sand. Cavendish Beach is not only beautiful it boasts a beautiful boardwalk where you can go grab some food, do some shopping, or visit Anne’s house.

3) Brackley Beach – PEI National Park

Looking for picturesque dunes? Look no further. Enjoy laying on the beach below majestic dunes, and check out the charming Covehead wharf, home to Richard’s Fish & Chips. Not something you want to pass up on, especially after a long hard day of relaxing at the beach.

4) Greenwich Beach – PEI National Park

Take a hike through the woods, walk along a magical floating walkway, cross huge dunes and stumble upon a stunning beach. This entire place is like a hidden paradise. I won’t spoil the beach for you. You will just have to make a plan to see if for yourself.

5) Thunder Cove Beach

A little lesser known, this gem is off the beaten path but well worth finding. The red cliffs along the water’s edge are spectacular. You can spend the whole day exploring the sea caves and taking photos of Tea Cup Rock.
